Why the 2005 Land Rover LR3?

Cargo capacity

The cargo capacity with the rear seat folded down is truly amazing. You could fit a pack of tall dogs back there.

Safety & braking

TONS of airbags.

Quietness

This thing is a vault with a great sound system. Very, very quiet ride, especially for an SUV.

Reliability & durability

Always starts. I never have to worry about it starting or overheating.

Why Not the 2005 Land Rover LR3?

Reliability & durability

Electrical system is a joke. It's like Christmas time year round on my dashboard, with every single warning sign built into the vehicle lit up. The windows and rear gate work VERY sporadicly, often leaving me with a window down in the rain.

Warranty, maintenance cost

If you go to get something fixed with the electrical system, it usually costs a fortune and lasts for a couple of months, at best. We have just decided to live with it as-is.

Depreciation

Depreciates quickly. Who wants a car that gets 12 miles to the gallon?

Fuel economy

12 miles to the gallon. Say goodbye to that new pair of shoes you've been eyeing- the gas tank just ate them.
