Reviewed: 2006 Mazda Mazda5

4dr Minivan 157-horsepower 2.3L I4 4-speed shiftable automatic FWD

Why the 2006 Mazda Mazda5?

Exterior styling

Neat package - smooth lines, accessibility of sliding doors without the full size profile of a minivan

Handling

Drives like a car (un-minivan like) - handles well around corners

Driving position & visibility

Good visibility through the windows, large front glass, sloping roof

Why Not the 2006 Mazda Mazda5?

Reliability & durability

OEM tires wore out < 35,000 miles, transmission fluid needed flushed at 40,000 miles

Rear seat room & comfort

Tight fit once the front seats are slid back. Third row is useless if the second row is slid back.

Cargo capacity

No usable cargo room if the third row seating is up and in use. Styling of back bumper (low to ground) makes it almost impossible to add a trailer hitch (and it has no listed towing capacity)
