Introduction

The Mazda RX-8 is an outstanding car for the money. It is a raceable street car that can seat 4 adults (and child car seats fit).It is very unique and incredibly fun to drive.

Why the 2004 Mazda RX-8?

Handling

Simply the best in its price range or even $10k higher!

Past personal experience

I owned a non turbo RX-7 for almost 10 years, so I already knew that I liked rotary engined sports cars.

Powertrain performance

Fabulous engine and transmission that gives a great driving experience

Rear seat room & comfort

Exactly what I needed to drive my wife and daughter and occasional 4th person

Why Not the 2004 Mazda RX-8?

Dealer practices

Mazda is short on rotary experts. I am lucky since my Dad was a Master Tech for Mazda in the 80s and 90s.

Insurance cost

Relatively high insurance and the value of the car keeps dropping

Fuel economy

Not that bad for what it is, but it seems to me that Mazda's Sky Active technology could help the city mileage. It just needs more R&D.
