Why the 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis?

Front seat support & comfort

Wanted lots of room. Liked pushbutton pedals positioning, so I can move the front seat forward to increase rear seat room. Front seats are way rearward for safety otherwise.

Rear seat room & comfort

Roomy only by positioning the front seats farther forward, but it is possible to make room for rear passengers.

Reliability & durability

A daughter had 9 year older Grand Marquis with no problems. Aged Panther platform has all the bugs worked out.

Price or payments

I purchased a used vehicle after leasing 2000 and 2002 Lincoln Continentals. Without incentives, a two year, 30K mile lease cost almost as much as the used Grand Marquis.

Insurance cost

The greatest depreciation was over when I bought the car used with 18,000 miles on it. Family style car keeps insurance payments low. Panther platform increases occupant safety with body on frame.
