Reliable Dependable Minivan for senior

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

Member6279

My 18 year old dodge caravan finally developed a lifter problem along with eating serpentine belts belt replaced, and the speedometer quit. Time for another car. I need something reliable, and dependable, along with something I can haul bags of chicken food in. I am thinking another van, but maybe not a dodge again. Too many electrical problems with this one.

Preferred Bodystyle(s): Coupe

Car Needs: Family transporter / Errands about town

Need minimum of 7 seats

Will consider both new and used cars
Maximum mileage: 50000
Maximum age: 4 years

No minivan is highly reliable. They seem to be too complicated for that. But the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna tend to require fewer repairs than the Chrysler minivans. In defense of your Dodge, it is 18 years old.

One problem with 2008-2011 Chryslers is they require frequent brake pad replacements. To avoid that issue, I'd get the nicer 2011 and up.

Kia and Nissan also offer minivans, but those tend to be less reliable than the Chrysler.

If you really need the space of a minivan, there really isn't an alternative. SUVs and crossovers have less space inside.
