You can't buy the LaCrosse for under C $25,000 and you'll have to buy a bottom of the line Encore to stay in your budget, which won't have any advanced safety features and few convenience features.
You need a small or subcompact crossover Toyota is one of the only mainstream brands that will give you the active safety features standard.
The 2018 Toyota CH-R XLE is one of your best bets in your budget at C $24,690. It has so many standard features, such as all the safety features, backup camera, dual auto a/c, leather steering wheel, 7" touchscreen, heated front seats, a spacious interior, driver seat with power lumbar support, 4.2" MID, power heated side mirrors with turn signals. It drives better than most $24k cars drive. It has a quiet interior and a smooth ride. The exterior styling is pretty cool, too. The car automatically brakes if it's about to hit a car or person, steers you back into your lane if you drift out of it, automatic high beams that turn off when another car comes head on, and dynamic radar cruise control that follows the car in front of you. The Encore isn't available with any of these things. The rear seat is small though so check that when you test drive.
I think you get way more for your money with the Toyota CH-R than the Buick Encore. Plus, it drives well like the Encore. Hope this helps.
