2005 Scion xA Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Great little car! by alphabet

Reliability & durability
This wasn't the car I had hoped to purchase, but when my previous car was too expensive to fix, I needed to find something I could afford. True to the reviews I found on this site, it has been super reliable and cheap to run. It gets more than 30 mpg consistently. It is zippy (I have the stick shift version) and easy to park. Great turning radius, too. Being a hatchback, it can swallow up a surprising amount of cargo. Another bonus is that the seats are supportive and getting in and out of the car is easy thanks to the height of the car. This is important to me since I have back problems. So far I haven't spent money on repairs. I've replaced brake pads, a battery and two tires. The brakes (ABS) are excellent-they stopped the car without wiggles when I encountered an elk in the road late at night in a national forest. What a great car!
Feature availability
This car didn't come with cruise control. It's the first vehicle I've had in almost 20 years without it, but I haven't really missed it. If you're looking for a super powerful, luxurious and gorgeous car, the Scion Xa isn't for you. I love this car for what it is-reliable, economical and practical.
Quietness
Not terribly quiet, but not awfully loud, either.
Feature availability
This car is an honest little hatchback. It is what it is, and doesn't pretend to be otherwise. doesn't come loaded with features, and I don't much care about that.
