Why the 2014 Subaru Forester?

Powertrain performance

Very quick. Fun to drive. Still a bit high up to really trust the cornering, but feels good under heavy acceleration.

Safety & braking

Will stop on a dime. Has saved us at least once.

Fuel economy

26.4 mpg isn't exactly the best ever, but for a very quick family car, it is hard to top.

Why Not the 2014 Subaru Forester?

Controls and instruments

EyeSight system is really annoying. Very sensitive, it will beep at you often as you drive along, usually for nothing at all. Has slammed the brakes on when nothing was in front of me. It is a bit like having a very scared passenger in the side seat constantly nagging you.

Controls and instruments

Infotainment sytem is AWFUL. Harman/kardon should be ashamed. Not great audio and utterly useless interface.

Quietness

Too much wind noise for a car of this price point. Might be acceptable in a 15 grand version, but not the full-house premium one.
