Why the 2012 Subaru Impreza / WRX?

Interior styling

The Ford's interior was so swoopy and so angular. it looked like the designers were making it look like a spaceship. I preferred the Subaru's modest and clean interior lines. The subaru is more open and less claustrophobic as well.

Powertrain performance

The subaru has proven AWD. The Ford handled very well and even had more power, but I live in a region with a lot of rain and snow. AWD is a trump card. The Subaru's CVT is very refined. It usually leaves you plenty of power to accelerate when you need

Feature availability

The Subaru has all wheel disc brakes standard. With respect to the car's on lots, it's hard to find the Ford with all wheel disc brakes unless you jump to the SEL. Then the SEL bumps the price up way too much and includes things I don't want.

Insurance cost

I don't know about the ford, but the subaru is very cheap to insure. Depreciation isn't that important since I'm going to drive it into the ground.
