What about the Mazda CX-5? It's a great alternative to the CR-V and RAV4 for less money and it's more fun to drive. $23k will get you a 2015-2016 CX-5 Grand Touring with under 40k miles, no problem.
The CX-5 Grand Touring (GT for short) has heated leather seats, 9-spkr Bose audio system with Sirius/XM, Blind Spot Monitor w/ Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Navigation, 8-way power driver's seat, rain-sensing wipers, power moonroof, 19" alloy wheels, advanced keyless entry and push-button start, rearview camera and models with the optional GT Tech Package have Bi-Xenon or LED headlights.
As an added bonus, it also manages to be quicker and more fuel efficient than the CR-V and RAV4. Definitely worth a look!
