Thinking a higher mileage older Luxury SUV might be smarter than a 3 year off Lease?

The Right Car for Me | TrueDelta

Dumping 2011 CRV with tranny shutter at 40mph that will not go away with 3x flush.
Originally thinking off lease 3 year old: Rav4, CX5, Sportage or Santa FE.
Now thinking slightly older & higher milage Lexus NX200 or RX350 might save us $10K and give us the safety and dependibility.

Skip the Sportage and Santa Fe because their engines are prone to failure. You'd be safe with any Toyota or Lexus. The NX has a turbo engine, which isn't as proven and might not be as reliable as the other Toyotas. Mazda CX-5 would probably be my choice since a 3 year old RAV4 would be the previous generation, which was not great to drive.

The Lexus NX200t is a pretty good vehicle, we have one. So far only problem has been rear door power lift that has a mind of its own. Has 58K miles it is great in urban environments due to size and agility (we are in Seattle) and is likely to last a long time. Due to Lexus engineering the turbo engine will probably go to 200k miles easy with clean syn oil. I would also recommend the RX450h comfortable with excellent mpg. Either will not be easy to find for < 25K.
