We were warned about the current state of Volvo quality by some BMW and Porsche owning friends, however we'd had such a great experience with our Volvo XC70 that we couldn't help having strong feelings toward the Volvo lineup. After 6 nonths of driving the car we absolutely love it still.
Friends and a collection of online reviews have said the quality and reliability of the 2021 Volvo XC60 is well below average. We have not had that experience at all. Granted we've only driven the car 8000 miles in the 9 months we've owned it but it has been largely flawless, as we have yet to have any reason to return to the dealer for anything.
This vehicle has the legendary Volvo seats and we waited for a specific vehicle that didn't have the stupid kids booster seats so that we could have heated seats in the rear (and they are far more comfortable for passengers too... take note Volvo, send more cars here without the booster seats). We drove our 2001 XC70 for 130,000 miles and just absolutely loved the car for short and long road trips because it was so comfortable, and this 2021 has similar comfort, they just fit so well. I just love taking this car on long trips.
The only knock against the car I have is the stupid infotainment system being so difficult to use while driving. Everything is several swipes and presses away, I think all cars should return to the regular HVAC and radio dials, reserving the entertainment system for navigation and phone integration.
Love this vehicle, highly recommended. BTW 23.5mpg the entire time we've owned it.
