2012 Acura TL SH-AWD 4dr Sedan
305-horsepower 3.7L V6, 6-speed shiftable automatic, AWD
Took delivery of TL after trade with Dad. He now has ILX. This car has 126k miles on the odometer. Hard Washington, D.C. Commuting miles. After an afternoon mechanical inspection the only issues apparent so far are a leaky axle seal between intermediate shaft and transmission. Dad says most notable issue with the car ever has been AC Compressor dead at 100k miles. |

Everything about this car is flawless except for one major thing that is driving me absolutely insane. The oil consumption is ridiculous and all of the dealers have run me in circles without a single fix. Since my last oil change, 3960 miles ago (which is a long interval for me due to a trip), the car has been provided with 2 quarts of 5w20 oil. After the last top up of half of a quart of the 2 quarts total, it still reads low on the dipstick, indicating it needs another whole quart of oil, which means that the vehicle has consumed a total of 3 quarts of oil over just 3,960 miles. This is absolutely insane to me and I have had nothing but the worst experience with north east MD/PA/VA dealers giving me the runaround with this issue. This is a serious design flaw and I may never buy another Honda again.
