36000 mi   Windshield cracked. Dealer said it was due to an impact. I have read that the windshields on these autos have experienced an unusual tendency to crack whit out any apparent cause. Dealer was not forthcoming with me regarding this information 
93000   SES light. GMTechlink: camshaft reluctor that has moved on the camshaft usually due to heat (but not in my case). Only cure new camshaft. http://www.sandyblogs.com/techlink/ 
106000 US $120 The flex pipe connecting the header to the cat had developed a leak. The shops I spoke to indicated that the dealer was the only place to find a replacement because of the 5 speed manual.

19220   Rear wiper motor stops when it is cold. Dealer ordered a replacement. Waiting for part.  Front suspension made thumping noise when ridding over road bumps, cracks and bad pavement. Dealer fixed it. No problem now. 
22320   Rear wiper motor replaced. Drivers seat belt did not retract properly. A replacement was ordered. No cost under warranty. New seatbelt retractor installed. 
37820 C $40 Replace front brake pads. 
41540   Blower motor seized because water in drain well area got closed up with leaves. Resistor and fuse burnt out. Had to cut fan frame to get motor out to grease bottom bearing. Adapter ring only comes with new motor. Made my own part to hold in motor.  
45880   Firewall window drain got plugged with leaves. Water entered blower fan motor. Rusted bearing and motor brush assembly. Took apart fan motor re-lubed the bearing. Replaced burnt heater fan speed resistor. Had to cut motor frame to get itout 
53320   The wheel tables rattle/thump. The bushings were changed, most of the noise disappeared but there is still something else rattling when driven over street cracks. 
68820   One side of bar broke off. Repaired by welding broken end pieces together rather than replacing for a new part. Too labor intensive to install new part [engine sub frame needs to be dropped to slide in new part]. Shocks leaking and car unstable on road. Replaced shocks Table bushings. Constant thumping.The new bushing helped but there is still rattling noise. Fedup learn just to live with it. Replaced tie rods to help to reduce the rattling noise. Helped a bit. Less noise traveling through steering wheel.

26000 US $75 Brakes squeeling. They warranted grinding costs of rotors, I paid for pads Rear Chevy Gold Emblem looks like water got in and destroyed it's appearance. New one put on 
36000   A clunking noise when going over bumps. They replaced the Stabilizer Shaft Links on both sides. ABS light on and brakes weird. They replaced wheel bearing and hub. Key will not come out. Shifter failed. replaced control assembly, and Floor shift. Common Problem. Should be a Recall. 
38000   2nd time in less than a year. Think thats a little soon 
55000   3rd time brakes have gone bad. sorry ass excuse that heat and cold of area does this. hmmmmmm not to my other 2 vehicles.

24000 mi   Replaced whole stick assembly came home earlier and needed to turn the HHR around to park Him and key wouldnt come out. tried everything, even undoing the side enough to see if there was a problem and couldnt see anything wrong. So S 
63000 US $306 I took it in at 29,000. No result. Took it back at 36K. No result. Finally at 63 the drone was so bad, used letter from GM for extended warranty. Wheel bearings found bad, not on the letter. I had to repair them myself. Normal here lately.

69000 US $163 Broken interlock pin in auto shifter. Entire shifter must be replaced. Common problem with the HHR and Cobalt. 
73000   Interlock pin in the shifter broke again and I just had to pay labor and the dealer bought the part. 
110000   Inside door handle broke. I put in a new one. pretty easy. 
126000   had a brake job and tire rotation done. replaced the rotors were too thin to resurface.

12000 mi   Electrical problem in radio. Electrical problem in drivers side power window. Electrical problem in turn signal. Both lower control arms had to be replaced. Hood needed to be re-aligned and paint touched up as well. 
26000   Rotors had to be turned for some reason. Also, the electrical system was acting funny. 
27000   Driver side wheel bearing needed to be replaced. Also, had to replace turn signal switch. 
41000   IGNITION SWITCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. ROTORS WARPED FOR THE SECOND TIME. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SO REPLACED THEM MYSELF. RUBBER STRIPS ON RUNNING BOARDS DELAMINATING FROM SUBSTRATE. 
49000   Steering column safety shock replaced. Crack in pipe coming off exhaust manifold to converter. Replaced cruise control switch. Power mirror switch replaced. 
57000   Drivers side door handle mechanism repaired. 
63000   Replaced chafed wire in wire harness by cylinder #3 Steering column malfunction. Replaced with new one. Throttle body gasket blown. Was replaced. 
101000 US $600 Had to replace the ECM.

26000 mi   The battery had a dead cell. A free loaner vehicle was obtained and the battery was replaced free of charge under the warranty. 
65000   Shifter linkage was replaced due to the fact that it would not allow the ignition key to be removed from the ignition. The shifter could be worked back and forth into P and it would then release key. Linkage replaced and no further issues. Covered by exte 
129000 US $250 I had to have the front passenger side wheel bearing assembly replaced. $175.00 for the part, $50 labor, plus taxes. Considering the mileage on my vehicle, I'm still extremely pleased with it's performance with so many miles on it.
