I attempted to correct the stalling issue that I've had since first discovering it years ago. My local repair facility was able to do a reflash of the main computer. I suspected this was the cause through internet inquiries of Pacifica owners. Bottom line - no help. The issue remains. I know how to avoid the problem, but were this car sold to an unsuspecting buyer, it could be deadly. I hear the new Pacificas have a similar issue. Chrysler SHOULD issue a recall!!!!!!!!

Low speed "clunks" exhibited at low speeds over bumps, rough roads. Early build 2004 Pacificas had bad design bushings on lower control arms, only solution was to replace lower control arms . Owner decided to replace front struts at same time, and alignmen A slight "clunk" exhibited when accelerated from a stop .....does not happen all the time. Does not effect driveability, just a little annoying. Solution: install rubber gaskets on front half shafts, previously addressed with a TSB from 2005. Replaced vacuum line, engine was fine, but cruise control would not engage.....a $20 cost..... To fix looseness in the steering, the dealer wanted to replace the entire steering rack, for $1150. I found an independent garage to replace steering tie rod ends and sway bar links for a total cost of $640 .
79000 mi

Persistent low speed "clunking/rattling" over bumps, uneven pavement. Smooth roads-no clunking or rattling. I would describe this problem as a "persistent annoyance." noise occurred at highway speed, followed by a smell of smoke and loss of pulling power. Complete drive train replaced except the rear end and transmission. After the shop tried to repair the problem 3 times, they said they could not find anything wrong but the symptoms would reappear after driving at highway speeds. Repair not successful. My local Chrysler dealer stated they did not carry repair manuals for a car that is 13 years old. That comment did not set well with me because the vehicle other wise works beautifully. I have heard comments from salvage yards that the car IS A 2004 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. As if to say, it is not worth fixing. I would like to hear from a Chrysler tech that this is true.
