What Our Members Are Saying about the Seat Room and Comfort of the 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT

2014 Hyundai Elantra GT Seat Room and Comfort: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Hatch 148-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Room enough for up to 6 foot adults.
2013 4dr Hatch 148-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Coming from a Volvo the seats are firm in comparison. They aren&#039;t the hard pans Honda seems to favor though with good side bolsters, quality cloth that should wear well and decent lumbar support(not adjustable in base). Headrests are adjustable for vertical movement but not forward or back. <br />

A comfortable ride. We drove over 500 miles each way on spring break and had no complaints.

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT

2014 Hyundai Elantra GT Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Hatch 148-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed manual FWD
The engine is an average performer and competitive with other cars in the class such as the Ford Focus or Chevy Sonic. While no barn burner it will merge on the highway with ease. Keep the revs above 3000rpm to hit the motor&#039;s torque band when accelerating. The engine is quiet at idle and I&#039;ve had to check the tachometer several times to be sure it was running.
2013 4dr Hatch 148-horsepower 1.8L I4
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Acceleration is fine. Do not bother with the -shiftable- automatic. Just leave the transmission in D, it will not accept your input much anyway. We normally leave the car in Eco since we do not drive it like we stole it.
2014 Hyundai Elantra GT Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 0 Though very fuel efficient and besides being very smooth at idle, the engine sounds very strained and noisy when pushed. The transmission dropped 3 gears just to gain very moderate momentum from 35 to 50 mph and in no way near an emergency maneuver. The engine seems thrashy at higher RPM's and is more suited to very sedate and calm driving. It suits the overall ambition of the model to achieve top mpg though and is not unexpected. Its just not very refined though. In short - its painful to hear it rev hard.
