US $650
Steering wheel replaced under 60,000 bumper 2 bumper warranty. Leather was bubbling and outer layer flaking off. No Charge to owner.
Gas filler flap failing to open. Repaired by me per service bulletin provided online from Hyundai: applied self-adhesive foam pad (weather stripping) to filler door spring. Cost: 5 minutes of my time and 10 cents worth of weather stripping.
Unable to fold down 1 of the 2 seat behind to create cargo space. Dealer had to order a new seat.
3100 mi
Changed the rear seat. Unable to fold down, replaced the rear seat under warranty.
16120 mi
Passenger-side tweeter and rear door (passenger-side) speaker replaced under warranty due to audio response degradation.
33480 mi
C $1139
Shattered front driver's-side inner fender sleeve due to -30 degrees. Consequent exposure of internal front bumper surface along bottom of wheel well resulted in accumulation of compacted snow/ice at that corner, cracking bumper bottom.
Door to fuel tank was difficult to open. I presume it was re-aligned.
1300 mi
my ET has no factory tint on the front windshield?
it is on even the cheepest of cars!
so the inside is very hot from the heat in tx.
& it not hot now!we have towels to cover legs.
& when summer is here we may have to sale the car.

Fuel filling door hard to open. Sprayed pivot point with WD 40. Seems ok.
3720 mi
Fuel door still not opening when tripped. Asked dealer to repair when in for lube/oil. A week later it was still not functioning properly. Have not bothered to return to dealer. The inside lever unlocks it but we have to use a pointed object to open it.
19840 mi
Gas cap flap would not open. There was a recall bulletin issued from Hyundai for this issue, but Canadian Hyundai dealer would not recognize it (not in their computer system yet). Was repaired under warranty anyway.
33000 mi
Spring on gas tank door was no longer working properly. fixed under warranty.
37000 mi
US $175
The valve stem broke while filling the tire in bitter cold. Dealer insists there must have been some other damage done to it to break it. They were the last to have the wheel off but it had been a few months since so they claimed no fault.
39000 mi
US $12
Recall for problems with stop lamp. Done, no cost to us. Broken sun visor, ordered and will be covered under warranty.
12500 mi
Gas cover had a defect with the pivoting mechanism, dealer added a kind of rubber shim to increase the spring effect. They told us about a recall to repair this.
4000 mi
The rear wiper blade and holder came off while driving. Dealership ordered new part, we came in a few days later and they installed it. Took about 1 hour to get the car back.
Fuel filler door release spring failed. Part backordered.
26000 mi
Dealer has yet to receive parts for this problem. Suspect not ordered. Living with semi-functional fuel filler door for now. Valve stem with integral TPMS sensor broke off in hand while attempting to fill tire. Nearest dealer with parts assured problem could be fixed quickly under warranty. Dlr refused svce and attempted to charge. No damage to wheel/tire. Valve stem repaired under Hyundai warranty. Sick of dealing with Hyundai North America and spotty dealer network. Sold car, took proceeds and banked most - spent rest on used Saab 9-5. I'd rather have a fun unreliable car than a boring one.
13700 mi
Gas tank cap doesn't pop out, need to pry it with my fingers. At first dealer lubricated the lock, worked for 1 day. This time they ordered whole new assembly, will replace it when it arrives. Warranty service.
18300 mi
Turns out dealer didn't really order the part as stated last time. This time they adjusted the gas cap door (as opposed to just greasing it the last time) and it has been working fine since.
30000 mi
Tire leaking, discovered valve stem broken. Took car to the nearest non-Hyundai tire place, they yanked out the TPMS valve and chucked it. Had to take it to Hyundai and pay $200 to have new TPMS valve put in. Warranty would have covered it.
33000 mi
US $500
Also adjusted fuel door as always.
51000 mi
US $64
Relief valve broke within the valve stem while getting a tire replaced. Mechanic told me it was my fault for driving without the valve stem caps on because the aluminum valve becomes brittle. I didn't attempt a warranty claim.
