2013 Hyundai Veloster 3dr Hatch
turbocharged 201hp 1.6L I4 6-speed manual FWD
clicking/crunching noise when driving away from a stop. Appears to be coming from front drivers side outer cv joint or lower suspension. Dealer could not replicate. Problem persists and can be felt in the car now along with the noise.
Tire developed a tear in the tire bead. Dealer replaced.
Ticking noise from front axle area on certain low speed maneuvers. Narrowed down to the front axle and axle nuts. Dealer replaced left front axle.
Replacement of shift cable connecting the shifter to the transmission. A squeaking noise was occurring when moving the shifter left from neutral (to first, second or reverse).
Squeaking of clutch pedal upon rapid release (eg. after placing vehicle in neutral). The noise became more frequent over a period of several months. Shop found that the clutch release bearing had rusted/corroded. Replaced bearing.
Replacement of left transmission output shaft seal due to clear oil found leaking under the vehicle.
Clutch pedal began to feel spongy when depressed. Diagnosed as a failed component within the Clutch Master Cylinder. The entire CMC was replaced.
Originally believed to be drive-axle bearings. Turned out to be hub-damage: hub spun inside bearing due to insufficient torque of splined drive-axle from Factory NO TORQUE. Replaced both hubs and drive-axle bearings. Dealer REFUSED Warranty.
