Infiniti G Gas Mileage (MPG)

Unlike other fuel economy surveys, TrueDelta's Real-World Gas Mileage Survey includes questions about how and where a car was driven. So you can get an idea of the Infiniti G's real-world MPG based on how and where you drive a car.

Infiniti G Fuel Economy: Pros
Year Body/Powertrain Comment
2009 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic RWD A downside if you are used to more fuel efficient cars--you pay for performance. NOte that I had a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser turbo convertilble (4 cyl.) before I bought the G. It got worse gas mileage.
2007 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD My average for the life of the car is 21MPG. Not too bad for a car with this power and my lead foot.
Infiniti G Fuel Economy: Cons
Year Body/Powertrain Comment
2010 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD Fuel economy is poor - about 19 MPG average.
2010 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD To be honest, it is exactly what I expected, so no real beefs with it. That said, if you are looking for a car that gets better than 19 or so combined, this is not it. Decent freeway miles (24-27/g) but in city it is hard to beat 16/g.
2009 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic RWD As noted before, the G will get about 18 around town in stop and go, about 27-28 on the highway.
2009 2dr Coupe 330-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD average 18 in town 24 highway.
2009 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD With such a large displaced engine and so much power you will find that you will have so-so mpg if you drive mainly in the city like I do. Especially if you are a "spirited" driver like I tend to be. I am averaging about 14-16mpg 95% city. On the highway its a different story. I have averaged up to 28mpg @ 78mph, I kind of wish I drove more on the highway.
2009 2dr Coupe 330-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic RWD You do not buy a performance car and expect to get good gas mileage. At a 5 mpg or greater difference from my last car, it is taking some getting used too.
2008 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD Can live with it because of the performance, but wish the mileage was better and premium fuel was not required.
2008 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD 5th gear is short and really infringes on getting decent mileage (15-17 in mixed and 22-23 hwy). Accurate EPA figures but the new 7 speed AT for 2009 really helps.
2008 4dr Sedan 328-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic AWD Takes a lot of fuel... 14L/100km about.
2008 2dr Coupe 330-hp 3.7L V6 7-sp shiftable automatic RWD With both highway and city driving, I would only average 19 mpg with moderate gas pedal use vs 24 mpg in the c300, which is AWD. One month of strictly city driving with heavy gas pedal use I average only 13mpg... Yikes!
