146000   The check engine amber light came on while driving on the interstate. All of a sudden the red warning light came on and the engine went into 'safe' mode. The motor was knocking extremely loud. Had the car towed to my home, where it is still. After changing oil, filter twice, the engine will start but makes a loud knocking in the back 3 cylinders. The engine and transmission are not leaking. The engine does not smoke. No compression loss on any cylinders. Possible spring broke? Pulling car into garage, taking out battery, air filter, intake and valve cover on back three cylinders. Will check lifters, tappets, also both cams. Suggestions please contact me thru this web-site or by my email:danielj261-at-yahoo.com.
146000 US $100 The knocking noise that is coming from engine is in the back 3 cylinders. When I removed the rear valve cover and replaced the intake, I started the car and no was present. The front head is oiling fine. Someone said the oil ports stopped.
83000 US $5170 Replace oil pan gasket.
68000 US $2 Engine light was on for a while. Err code read "Small Evap Leak" Lasted for months. Dealer could not repair, they said. Opened hood, removed plastic engine cover, breather hose had a 4" crack. Replaced hose, problem solved.
103000 US $20 Intake manifold tuning valve o-rings were old and flattened, causing a vacuum leak at the o-ring site. Self-diagnosis and repair. I replaced the o-rings myself.
112700   Threw P0420 and P0333 CEL codes. The P0420 is for a catalytic converter, however on the Jaguar the issue is 95% of the time caused by the oxygen sensor, weird I know. P0333 is for a knock sensor. November: No other symptoms, not fixed yet.
126000   Coolant overflow bottle developed a crack. Had to replace it.
80000   Replaced exhaust lambda sensor
