See an alien? Predator? Gigantic insect? If so, you're far from the first. The closer you get, the more muscular the new Lexus IS appears.
Back away, and the Lexus IS appears more trim and sophisticated. The additional length is most obvious when the new Lexus IS is viewed directly from the side.
I especially like how the rocker panel twists up into the tail light. Point echoed in side window. Another angle on that distinctive curve.
Note: interior photos are from a different car. I don't know if white/red is an available combo. Anyone else get a 1980s Toyota vibe from this? Definitely not a BMW, and more interesting for it.
Everything is close at hand. Note LFA-inspired instruments in default position. Here the tach has motored to the left to open up more space for the multi-function display.
Small trunk, but at least the rear seat now folds. Cover on the IS 250's engine is all black rather than black and silver.
Which gearhead wouldn't rather look at this? Best execution of the Lexus spindle grille. The front end styling will be revised for 2017.
I especially like how the rocker panel twists up into the tail light. Point echoed in side window. Not as upscale as some others, but refreshingly different. I like the 1980s retro vibe.
A much less imposing instrument panel than you'll find in most competitors. Everything is close at hand. Note LFA-inspired instruments.
Comfortable yet supportive. You can't get leather with the F Sport, but this is a good synthetic. Decent room, but the size and low position of the cushion remain those of a compact sedan.
Small trunk. At least the rear seat folds. The new turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Better than the small V6 it replaces.
