Mar 20188100 mi | Infotainment system crashing, rebooting, going unresponsive when Bluetooth devices are connected. Right headlight judders when turning in/out of a curve (car equipped with adaptive “steerable” headlights) Moonroof switch sticks, occasionally requires several pushes to open moonroof Right side headlight not properly aimed after headlight replacement. Returned to adjust aim. Tonight I realized it’s still misaligned. Right side headlight unit was replaced last week. Vehicle returned to me with badly mis-aligned headlight. Returned for adjustment. Came back still out of alignment - worse than before. Tech writer assured me it was the best they could achieve (at 6 feet away from a wall, the headlights were noticeably off axis). New service writer & new tech managed to get it right this time. | ||
May 201812000 mi | On highway, a thump then grinding sound happened. Pulled over and found the lower engine cover had torn away from the front attachpoints and bent backwards, jammed into the engine and dragging the roadway. Could not dislodge on the roadside and had to have it towed. Classic Mazda in Orlando’s solution? Bent the damaged part back into place and drill new holes into it to reattach it! I wish I could say I’m making this up. This is how they delivered it back to me (mind you, this is Mazda’s flagship vehicle... $44,000 sticker price). I refused to accept it in this condition and insisted they replace the part and attach it the way it is supposed to be attached. The vehicle is sitting at the dealership waiting for the parts. Going on 3 days now. A thump/strange noise from the right front wheel area is periodically heard going over uneven pavement, changes in grade, or speed bumps. Lower engine dust shield had been haphazardly repaired by the dealer. Part ordered and replaced 2 days later Returned vehicle to dealer for a complete inspection of this week’s repair, as well as all prior repairs. Car is 8 months old and has had the following major repairs: - Replaced navigation screen and software update due to repeated crashes and reboots - Replaced right headlight unit due to jitter/shutter when hitting bumps or in curves - Lower engine shield/cover fell while on the highway, peeling itself backwards and wedging against the vehicle floorpan - Groan noise from right front wheel when hitting uneven pavement/bumps. Unresolved — “can’t duplicate” |
