Long time toyota owner. Decided to switch toa Forester for AWD, safety and Relialibilty. In 1 year I experienced a complete computer shutdown due to a faulty brake switch and an engine oil leak. Piece of junk-no confidence in subaru. Going back to Toyota!

2011 4dr SUV 170-horsepower 2.5L H4
4-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Not impressed thus far. Has consumed far too much oil for a new vehicle. Dealership inspected for leaks; they did not find any. They stated the oil consumption (about three quarts every 4000 miles) is typical. Subaru Of America was no help.
2004 4dr SUV turbocharged 210hp 2.5L I4
4-speed automatic AWD
Subarus are known for their Japanese make and reliability. But in the year I have owned this car, I have had anything but reliability. In twelve months, the car has been drivable for only 6. And even when it is drivable, it stalls, bucks, and gives a general feel that is not one of confidence.

2015 4dr SUV 176-horsepower 2.5L I4

Doesn't everyone who buys a Toyota expect it to just run? With 7500 miles on the odometer, I can say I've got no issues nor do I expect any. No weird noises, nothing to take back to the dealer for, it all just works, and has been since I got it. That is a reassuring start, but something I've come to take for granted with the Toyota products.
2009 4dr SUV 269-horsepower 3.5L V6

Excellent long term reliablity
2009 4dr SUV 269-horsepower 3.5L V6

2009 4dr SUV 179-horsepower 2.5L I4

High ratings from every car review I have read. Very high resale value and see used ones all the time with 150k+ miles - I should be able to own this 10+ years.
2008 4dr SUV 269-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic AWD
After trading in a car that was in the shop 6+ times a year, I wanted a vehicle with an above-average likelihood of reliability. This vehicle has so far lived up to reliability expectations.
2008 4dr SUV 269-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic AWD
Several of my family members have had Toyotas over the years with no majot issues.
2008 4dr SUV 269-horsepower 3.5L V6

Low maintenance cost, few recalls, no issues at all no rattles or squeeks and Toyota dealer has been very fair
2008 4dr SUV 269-horsepower 3.5L V6

never owned toyota but based on reputation.I know several people who own toyotas and no dissapointmenta
2008 4dr SUV 166-horsepower 2.4L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
It goes without saying that everyone wants a reliable vehicle. I believe that Toyota is not alone in that objective, the other manufacteurs have caught up with them.
2008 4dr SUV 166-horsepower 2.4L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
Unfortunately, I had to get rid of this car because with less than 100, 000 miles (it had 95, 000) and having beenexcellently maintained it gave me oil sludge problem, and the dealer recommended engine replacement... Unvelievable in a Toyota with such a low, well maintainedvehicle. I will never, ever again buy a Toyota. It was my first (and last) one. I would not recommend it to any one...
