What Our Members Are Saying about Pricing and the Buick LaCrosse

Pricing of the Buick LaCrosse: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
20104dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Low residual values make it expensive to lease.
20074dr Sedan 200-horsepower 3.8L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
A bit overpriced considering the differences between Impala and LaCrosse.
20042dr Convertible 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Even though you're getting a lot of car, still very expensive.
20032dr Convertible 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed manual RWD
You are paying for the BMW name, some exclusivity of ownership, and paying big bucks for any parts and service you need. E.g., a battery trickle charger with BMW on it cost $85...the same charger at Sears was less than $20!
20044dr SUV 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
These can be pricey.
20024dr SUV 282-horsepower 4.4L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
New price is enormous. 50,000+ I paid 15,000
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
I paid cash, but they do not usually offer incentives on the 5 series. That may have changed in this economy but the 5 series has few incentives.
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
for 60k the 5 series seems a bit pricy compared to what you can get from even an acura TL for instance.
20054dr Sedan 325-horsepower 4.4L V8
6-speed manual RWD
Who wouldn't want it to be less expensive?
20044dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed automated manual RWD
It's Expensive
20024dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed manual RWD
Compared to the implicit value of Genesis, BMW simply charges too much for what you get...$25K delta just not justifiable.
20014dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
still a high payment
20004dr Sedan 282-horsepower 4.4L V8
6-speed manual RWD
Mostly about the depreciation - you will lose money
20082dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
about 25% more expensive than the Infinity, plus dealer add-ons are very expensive
20082dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The 3 series would have cost ~$5000 more, and I would have gotten a larger car with more passenger and cargo space than I needed. It's not that the 3 series is truly "big," but I liked the smaller option of the 1 series
20084dr Wagon 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
More expensive yet repair history not as good
20084dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Objectively, not a good value compared to competitors' options. Standard "leatherette" material is purposefully bad to make people pay the $1300 for leather.
20084dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
$52,000 out the door for a 3 series is egregious, but I feel like dollar for dollar, it still can't be beat.
20082dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Althought the price reflects general maintenance costs, over the 4 year program, there are significantly reduced numbers of those maintenances performed, ie., oir change, general inspections, no tire rotations, etc.
20084dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
It seems the propeller marque demands a premium over comparable vehicles. I'm not a badge whore so it's an expense I could have done without but I couldn't wait for the G37 sedan. Needed a new land rocket post haste.
20084dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
This is pretty expensive for the size and features. But I guess it's a matter of paying for the German engineering.
20084dr Wagon 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Options it up and you are well over $40K for a 230HP sluggish car.
20072dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The car is more expensive than it should be for what you get in the purchase. I think you pay well for the BMW emblem.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
luckily you get what you pay for, but it's a pricey car. At least for me.
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
The price isn't bad for what you get, but the maintainence costs at the dealer (once the 4 year warranty runs out) can be high.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
premium brand, paying for performance but US to Canada is a ripoff. same car is 10k less in USA.
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Way over priced... $14K more then it's competition.
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
A well optioned 335i sedan tops $45,000 without Navigation/iDrive. Add in a few other options such as adaptive CC, PDC, navi, HD radio & Sirius, and it is over $50,000. Japanese competitors aren't quite as expensive similarly equipped.
20074dr Wagon 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
high priced - but may be worth it for the vehical
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Although it is a great car, it is expensive. I've had it for a year and am not convinced that it is worth the price. Why does an oil change have to cost so much?
20072dr Coupe 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Too expensive. Too many options installed in cars at dealer inventory.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Too expensive for what you get. Even used the price is not worth the lack of styling, and undesirable & upredicable accelarator & shifting, and sensitive unpredicable braking.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Cost more than average car
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Roughly 50K for a fully equipt vehicle. Dealers would not discount. However, lease program was attractive but I did not want to lease.
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
Kinda high in price.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Features like AWD are not standard. These features quickly increases the price when added.
20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Expensive car.
20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The price of a new 3-Series is on the rise, in turn increasing the average payment and making it harder for some to justify the $50-60K cost of a midsize sedan.
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Sometimes things get expensive when you build a new car.
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
BMWs are definitely spendy for what you get.
20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Pretty expensive compared to Japanese cars of similar design.
20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
The price was high for the features and performance compared to the A4 and the TL.
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
It is an expensive car and offering less options, comparing to the competition.
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Pricey for us poor public servants.
20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
Especially when "packages" are included, can be very expensive, even in 325, 328 versions. Some packages force odd accessories to get useful ones.
20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
I knew from the start theat BMW's cost more, but that IS a downside to having one. I saved a lot by picking it up in Germany. Basically a free Europe vacation, but had to wait for ti to be shipped to west coast...
20054dr Sedan 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
A little more expensive than competing makes/models, but worth it.
20052dr Coupe 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
It ain't cheap. But you get what you pay for.
20054dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual AWD
a little oversprice- just due to the brand name factor.
20054dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
BMW quality comes with a BMW price tag. Ouch.
20042dr Convertible 235-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
It's a bit pricey.
20044dr Sedan 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
They cost more. I prefer a used BMW to any new Asian car.
20042dr Coupe 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed automated manual RWD
It is expensive.
20044dr Wagon 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic AWD
If you buy a CPO, the price is much higher than private party.
20044dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
maintenance is $$$ relative to other brands
20044dr Sedan 235-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
The grouping of options into "packages" usually includes one item that you want and cannot get any other way with several other expensive things that you do not want, but cannot delete from your order (i.e. auto dimming mirrors with lumbar support).
2003.54dr Sedan 235-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
expensive, but holds its value well.
20034dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed manual RWD
Even a 3-series ain't cheap!
20034dr Wagon 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed manual AWD
They are expensive to purchase, and to maintain.
20034dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed manual AWD
Ridiculous for what you get. Extra cost metallic paint and folding rear seat! Vinyl seats in a $30k+ car?!
20024dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed manual RWD
Expensive
20022dr Coupe 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
As this car is subject for taxation at many levels you will always pay more. The cost of parts is not as high as you would think.
20024dr Sedan 184-horsepower 2.5L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Price is a bit high once you add the "options" that should be included like sunroof, leather, HID lights and such
20024dr Sedan 225-horsepower 3.0L I6
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
pay too much for the "NAME"

20064dr Sedan 244-horsepower 3.0L V6

I must have hit the dealer at the right time because I am paying less for the V6 6SP than I was paying for a 2003 EX-L 4 cyl w/5SP and with no money down, only first months payment due at signing.
20062dr Coupe 244-horsepower 3.0L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
I received a $3500 incentive for buying a "left-over" car. I purchased a new 2006 Accord in Jan/2007.
20054dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4

We bought a DX with dealer-installed AC. $13,000 plus a Plymouth Breeze with a blown head gasket. Not bad for a brand new car with 11 miles on the odometer.
20054dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.4L I4

Price was 19 out the door including tax for me new in MT. Dealership cost may be high, but the chances your car is going to break down is nil, so thats even more thirft.

20114dr Sedan turbocharged 365hp 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
the sho is a nice toy but cost a nice penny even with the rebates it's hard to justify spending the cash to speed 0 to 60 in 3 seconds.
20084dr Sedan 275-horsepower 4.6L V8
4-speed automatic FWD
The price was a lot higher then the Mercury
20094dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Car is too expensive in Canada - should be 10% cheaper to match US prices.
20092dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
Base model is a rental car. Adding "options" adds $10k to the base instantly, widening the gap between the Infiniti and the Bimmer to...$11k.
20092dr Coupe 414-horsepower 4.0L V8
7-speed automated manual RWD
I believe it needs to sticker 10-12k less. You can get a Vette GS, a Caddy CTS, for 18K less!

6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
BMW pricing.
20092dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
It's a nice car, but you are paying a large price premium for the brand. The same performance can be had for much less with greater reliability.
20082dr Coupe 414-horsepower 4.0L V8
6-speed manual RWD
This is a problem with most car companies, but by the time you add the options you would actually WANT on your car, you've easily added $7k-$12k to advertised MSRP. Often times things you want are bundled with things you don't want or care
20084dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
Expensive to purchase and expensive to mainatain after warranty expires
20084dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6

20082dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The 3 series would have cost ~$5000 more, and I would have gotten a larger car with more passenger and cargo space than I needed. It's not that the 3 series is truly "big," but I liked the smaller option of the 1 series
20084dr Wagon 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
More expensive yet repair history not as good
20084dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Objectively, not a good value compared to competitors' options. Standard "leatherette" material is purposefully bad to make people pay the $1300 for leather.
20084dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
$52,000 out the door for a 3 series is egregious, but I feel like dollar for dollar, it still can't be beat.
20082dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Althought the price reflects general maintenance costs, over the 4 year program, there are significantly reduced numbers of those maintenances performed, ie., oir change, general inspections, no tire rotations, etc.
20084dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
It seems the propeller marque demands a premium over comparable vehicles. I'm not a badge whore so it's an expense I could have done without but I couldn't wait for the G37 sedan. Needed a new land rocket post haste.
20084dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
This is pretty expensive for the size and features. But I guess it's a matter of paying for the German engineering.
20084dr Wagon 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Options it up and you are well over $40K for a 230HP sluggish car.
20072dr Coupe turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The car is more expensive than it should be for what you get in the purchase. I think you pay well for the BMW emblem.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
luckily you get what you pay for, but it's a pricey car. At least for me.
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
The price isn't bad for what you get, but the maintainence costs at the dealer (once the 4 year warranty runs out) can be high.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD

6-speed shiftable automatic AWD

20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
A well optioned 335i sedan tops $45,000 without Navigation/iDrive. Add in a few other options such as adaptive CC, PDC, navi, HD radio & Sirius, and it is over $50,000. Japanese competitors aren't quite as expensive similarly equipped.
20074dr Wagon 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
high priced - but may be worth it for the vehical
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Although it is a great car, it is expensive. I've had it for a year and am not convinced that it is worth the price. Why does an oil change have to cost so much?
20072dr Coupe 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Too expensive. Too many options installed in cars at dealer inventory.
20074dr Sedan 230-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic AWD
Too expensive for what you get. Even used the price is not worth the lack of styling, and undesirable & upredicable accelarator & shifting, and sensitive unpredicable braking.

6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
Cost more than average car
20074dr Sedan turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6

Expensive car.
20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed shiftable automatic RWD
The price of a new 3-Series is on the rise, in turn increasing the average payment and making it harder for some to justify the $50-60K cost of a midsize sedan.

20064dr Sedan 215-horsepower 3.0L I6

20064dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6
6-speed manual RWD
I knew from the start theat BMW's cost more, but that IS a downside to having one. I saved a lot by picking it up in Germany. Basically a free Europe vacation, but had to wait for ti to be shipped to west coast...

20044dr Sedan 235-horsepower 3.0L I6

The grouping of options into "packages" usually includes one item that you want and cannot get any other way with several other expensive things that you do not want, but cannot delete from your order (i.e. auto dimming mirrors with lumbar support).
2003.54dr Sedan 235-horsepower 3.0L I6
