I had a misfire. Mechanic thought it was a coil because they fail often. It turned out not to be a coil. He didn't know what it was so he changed the spark plug. He said I need to burn premium gas. The regular gas may be fouling this plug. Update: When the car was at BMW in September, they said the ignition coils are all failing and wanted to replace them all. This is apparently as common as tire replacement on this vintage BMW.
