42500 mi | Driving in bumper to bumper traffic I noticed a warning light lit and it was the cooling system. I had been warned about stopping immediately if the light came on as it could mean having to buy a new engine. The radiator fan died and in traffic consequently the engine overheated since there was no ambient airflow over the radiator. Complained to the dealer that the car was just over a month old and the even if it wasn't certified, that they should replace it as they are a premiere MINI/BMW dealer in Honolulu. They agreed and all has been good since then. |
20000 mi | Check engine light came on. Took it to the dealer and was told it had to do with engine cooling. Dealer bleed cooling system and reprogramed the computer. Check engine light came on again, took it back to the dealer to replace themostat |
76100 mi | Car missing and running rough especially at idle and when starting out from a stop. Replaced spark plugs under warranty and coils at my expense. |
92000 mi | Yellow engine warning light. Tech said it was the thermostat code. Have not replaced since car is running OK and has not run hot yet. Cost estimate approx 400.00 I expect it is just a electronic issue not thermostat being bad |
