turbocharged 300hp 3.0L I6 8-speed shiftable automatic RWD

21000 mi Car has the M Performance exhaust. When in Sport mode, exhaust normally burbles and pops when releasing the throttle. Pops have become louder and more explosive over time, to the point where it sounds like mini-backfires. Seems abnormal.
