Reported problem - Cam shaft bearing and bearing seal source of leak. Cost estimate $1,492.00 (parts, labor, tax included). Left dealer with no work done. Seeking second opinion at another garage. Oil leaking excessively, coating entire engine, dripping onto ground. Diagnosis revealed cam bearing housing gasket failed. Warranty expired - out by 21,000 miles. Parts, labor, tax estimate to repair/replace= $1492.00. New cam carrier gasket, vacuum pump gasket, cylinder head cover gasket, oil filter and oil. multi point inspection. Dealer assistance thru Samantha Dey (service manager,) reduced costs greatly. payment of $258.00 |
