The PCV system will begin to suck oil from the engine. These engines do not have a "rattle" PCV or PCV valve -- it uses a small hole in the nipple of the outlet in the valve cover. For whatever reason (sludge buildup, increased engine backpressue, clogged splash cover inside valve cover) , it begins to suck actual oil instead of just relieve gas pressure. Results in smoking out the exhaust at startup. Solution is to install a catch can. |
