CEL with code: P0299. Took car to dealer and was informed that turbo needs replacement
P0299 code and check engine light on. Dealer replaced turbocharger. Light came on again after 150 miles, problem wasn't fixed.
46300 mi
Adjusted wastegate to eliminate P0299 code.
13000 mi
While driving and giving full throttle, there was a loud clang and engine went into "limp-home-mode" and was unable to go above 3,000 rpm in any gear except first gear. Dealer replaced entire turbo.

US $20
Oil catch can was not working properly and dumping oil into the turbo charger, resulting in unstable throttle and oil burning smell
30200 mi
Bad engine miss at 60mph. Check engine light came on. Dealer discovered a misfire incident in #3 cylinder. This engine has always been jerky under load but not this bad. Check engine light shut itself off after several restarts.
4400 mi
Engine sludgy and surgy. Bad turbo tuning. Engine surging and has flat spots in the power band during boost.
27500 mi
Misfire on cylinder #2, coil bad.
Delivery for new coil over 3 weeks!? Car still at dealer multiple states away. Dodge corporate not helping (warranty does not cover shipping of car). Part can be overnighted if we order it ourselves.
41000 mi
US $70
Bad coil pack after 44,000 miles.
13900 mi
Under hard acceleration the engine was lagging. It was not turbo lag, as I own three other turbo charged engines and know what turbo lag was. It was an ignition problem that was fixed with a reprogramming of the engine computer.
21000 mi
The car was in the shop once for this problem, but under hard acceleration the car would hesitate and lag. The engine computer was flashed and it now runs way smoother.
35000 mi
Under hard acceleration, the car tends to hesitate. This is not turbo lag, but a hesitation from the push of the accelerator pedal to the engine. I was experiencing hesitation (not turbo lag), and the dealer reported to me that Chrysler is aware of this problem. It happens between 2000 and 3000 rpm, and the engine will hesitate under throttle. There is no current fix at this time.
55000 mi
US $35
Ignition coil D (cylinder 4) failed. Took to my local dealer and they would not work on it, as ignition systems are not covered under powertrain warranty.
64700 mi
US $42
Ignition coil failure. Replaced coil and problem was resolved.
29700 mi
P0299 code thrown on trip. Turbo replaced under warranty.
41000 mi
US $65
Oil Leak
40000 mi
Turbocharger controls adjusted. (Dealer also replaced air filter and charged for this.) Resolved extreme turbo lag/unpredictable acceleration issues.
45000 mi
US $18
Replaced spark plugs. Discovered original plugs were in decent shape but terribly mis-gapped. This resolved problems I have had with hesitation and sag/surge since the car was acquired. I got it second-hand, but less than three years old, so I suspect but cannot confirm that the factory put mis-gapped plugs in; but it may be a prior-owner goof.
50200 mi
Occasionally, the cruise control stops working and the car has no boost pressure. Turning the car off and on again fixes it. Oil collecting in plug well #1 (closest to passenger side).
69500 mi
Check engine light coming on while driving
38000 mi
Technical Service Bulletin #18-020-15, PCM reflash to correct poor low speed engine throttle response and uneven acceleration under moderate or heavy throttle. It did the trick. Car is night and day better to drive.
An intermittent oil pressure switch set off a warning message light.
2000 mi
Thermostat housing had minor leak. Took about 5-6 days to get the part in and put in the new one. In the meantime, I was driving a 300, so that compensated. Thermostat housing? 2,000 miles? Yes. But I still am happy we bought the car.
30700 mi
Oxygen sensor replaced
Driveability flash, also included a remote start cold weather update. I was notified of the TSB while getting splash guards installed and took about 15 minutes to complete.
30500 mi
Active grille shutter failure leading to CEL, cooling fan control module failure, and power drain when vehicle off discharging battery. Ultimately battery, fan module, and grille shutters replaced.
17000 mi
Engine light staying on. engine light staying on due to gas cap not tight enough. must be 2-3 clicks
22000 mi
Engine Coolant Leak
5000 mi
Catastrophic engine failure. Unresolved to date, with crate engine "back ordered". In the shop for over 40 days with no repair.
At 5500 miles I had a bolt break loose from the water pump, and cause extensive damage to the cam shaft and crank shaft. It was in the shop for 10 days as parts were not readily available. This vehicle had no get up and go. Basic lag. I could floor the gas pedal and it was totally unresponsive. Brought it to dealer and they updated the software at 19,000 miles. It has been better since.
