Given its performance, it has remarkable economy. When babied on the highway, I can get 38+mpg. In the city with a leadfoot, I get about 23. On average is 28-30 MPG.

being a hatchback, I was able to take my wife and son and all of his college gear (pretty much a full load) and still get 31.5 MPG. Around town it typically gets 25 to 27 which is acceptable for the type of driving I do

I typically get around 25 mpg, though it might be improving. Will see on an upcoming trip.

Not the best for a small sedan. Expect only 24-25 in the city, no better than 30mpg on the freeway. Geared for acceleration so the engine turns at high rpm in city traffic (nearly 2500 rpm), and on the freeway at 70mph the engine is over 3k rpm.

60/40 City/Highway yields only 25-27 MPG, not very impressive for a 4 cylinder although keep in mind it is a 2.3 liter engine.
