2010 Scion xD 4dr Hatch

128-horsepower 1.8L I4 5-speed manual FWD

141000 mi Computer showed multiple codes. They ran a smoke test to define the problem. I need to replace the evaporative canister which is an expensive item. Have put this off because of the cost. I replaced the gas cap and disconnected the battery and the check engine light went off but light returned after 10 days. Will have to repair to pass inspection in December or replace the car.
