There was a problem inside the door that caused the seatbelt to break over time. They issued a recall to fix that problem, but not the seat belt itself. So if you knew about the recall and could get it fixed before the seat belt broke, great. Otherwise you needed them to replace the recalled part, but still needed to fix the seat belt on your dime. I replaced the belt myself.

2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4-door

6-cylinder automatic 4WD

12000 mi Drivers side arm rest on the door cracked/broke and the entire door panel needed to be ordered and replaced. Dealer covered the repair under Toyota's manufacturer warranty. Driver's side seat height adjustment seemed to be malfunctioning. The hydraulic cylinder used for height adjustment (driver's side) would not hold its position (i.e., it kept sinking to a lower position). Installed new hydraulic cylinder for seat height adjuster.
