1200 mi Steering wheel Vibrations
5000 mi

US $87
Steering wheel shimmy. Re-balanced tires, but that did not solve the problem. Problem may be caused by bad bushings in front control arms.
11800 mi replaced hose on steering pump to stop low-speed shudder
13000 mi The shimmy was still there when I traded the A4, although the dealer had road forced balanced the wheels twice. We were at the point where he was going to request replacement control arms for the fix.
7000 mi Steering wheel vibration at high speeds. Unresolved.
3500 mi In-warranty tire replacement to alleviate vibration. Control arms ordered and will be installed in about a month.
7000 mi Control arms replaced. Air conditioner exhibited strange smells. filter was wet, A/C cleaned and filter replaced by dealer.
11000 mi Like many 2009 Audi A-4's, mine has a steering wheel vibration at 65-75 mph. Factory knows about this. (See Edmund's site). New lower control arms and bushings are on order.
13000 mi Exactly as Edmunds described it. Vibration in steering wheel at 65-75 mph. If TTAC would spend less time worrying about General Motors, and more on nuts and bolts problems like this and ones many others are experiencing, it wouldn't be such a bad thing.
14000 mi The lower control arms were replaced, the wheels were hard road balanced, and the car, so far at least, feels perfect. Problem appears to be resolved.
1800 mi shimmy steering wheel at 60-70 mph. (two trips to dealership and the problem still exits)
6000 mi new control arms were installed, but they do not eliminate the steering wheel vibration completely.
26300 mi New hose is replaced to eliminate the steering wheel vibration during parking maneuver

2009 Audi A4 4dr Sedan

265-horsepower 3.2L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD

6000 mi Steering wheel vibrates at highway speed, starts at 65-75mph and disappears or smoothens at 80mph and above. Update: I've talked to Audi about this problem and they have told me that they are redesigning a new power steering hose, available Jan 2010.
14300 mi Control arms were replaced per TSB of high speed steering wheel shimmy, also, Power steering hose replaced per TSB of low speed steering wheel shimmy.
1000 mi Terrible wheel shudder between 55-65 MPH. Steering wheel literally shook in your hands. Tried to balance tires and did nothing. Consulting with Audi on issue.
