Dec 2014178000 mi | Car vibrating more than normal when letting off the pedal after putting it into drive. Less acceleration and only 21 mpg. Upstream o2 sensor replaced and problem solved. Done at 160k miles. Blower only worked on high setting. Replaced blower motor resistor behind passenger glovebox at 172k miles and problem solved. Passenger front brake caliper locked up and caused lots of brake dust and a burning smell due to the brake always being applied slightly while driving. Replaced the caliper at 170k miles and problem solved. Not sure what's causing this, but over bumps, the front axle area of the car makes a soft thud noise. Assuming its the struts or some type of joint whether it be a CV joint or ball joint. Started at 165k miles. Engine started to burn oil around 80k miles (1qt/1,500-2,500 miles). Now at 178k miles and burns 1qt/150 miles highway and 1qt/300 miles city. Due to stuck piston rings known to be a problem for this car. Rebuild not worth value of the car. Interior door handles break often with this model (stop unlocking the door) and needed to be replaced twice for the driver side and twice for the passenger side throughout its life time not allowing people inside to unlock it, only exterior. Ball joints needed replacing at about 120k miles. |
