Steering rack was leaking fluid. Rack was replaced. Leaky gasket on transmission. Gasket replaced. Backlight on a switch in the steering wheel was out. Switch had to be replaced. Rough idle. Dealer claimed that they could not replicate problem, but cleaned fuel injection system anyway. Problem continues. Transmission delays the 1-2 shift too long, leading to a harsh shift. Was told that my truck behaves differently than other similar trucks.
Jun 2008

48000 mi
Another gasket was replaced in transmission. Took truck home, still leaks transmission fluid. Another appointment was made with dealership. Took truck back, told them transmission was still leaking. They could not replicate leak, had me come get truck. Because dealer employs idiots, transmission still leaks as it did before. Another appointment made with dealer to try yet again. Dealer added UV dye to transmission fluid to try to pinpoint source of persistent transmission leak. Sent truck back home with me, with yet another appointment to return truck next week to try and find leak with a blacklight. $5 transmission pan gasket was replaced. Diagnosing this took 4 visits. Leak was finally repaired during this visit.

Jan 2017

175000 mi

US $225
Not sure what is wrong with the truck, it is running very rough and turning off while being driven. Black smoke coming from exhaust We were still having problems with the truck running rough and it would go dead and not start back up. The mechanic traced part of the problem to an electrical connector in the motor that regulates how rich the fuel runs and he fixed that. But he said the electrical problem that was causing the cab light to go crazy and the speedometer to read wrong and also drains the battery was something else and he would have to have the truck longer, so right now my husband puts it on the battery charger every night so it will start in the morning.

We are still trying to fix the problem we have been having for months. We had a guy looking at it that used to work for GM and he said he knew what the problem was and he could fix it etc. I know why he isn't working for GM anymore, it did run and work like it was supposed to for about a week and then it started running rough and the battery started going dead and the instrument panel started appearing in french and spanish and I think german. So I think we will take it back to another shop:(
Apr 2018

141000 mi

US $300
We were having all kinds of problems with the truck, we had to replace the battery twice, the speedometer was not working as well as everything else on the instrument cluster. We took the truck to a local shop and the mechanic pulled out the cluster, We sent the instrument cluster to a guy that was recommended to us on eBay. The cluster was completely restored and returned to us the same week. Great guy who I would highly recommend, even called me and explained everything he did and said it should take care of all of our problems. The mechanic put it back in the truck and checked everything out and so far it is running great.
