Leaky gasket on transmission. Gasket replaced. Transmission delays the 1-2 shift too long, leading to a harsh shift. Was told that my truck behaves differently than other similar trucks.
48000 mi Another gasket was replaced in transmission. Took truck home, still leaks transmission fluid. Another appointment was made with dealership. Took truck back, told them transmission was still leaking. They could not replicate leak, had me come get truck. Because dealer employs idiots, transmission still leaks as it did before. Another appointment made with dealer to try yet again. Dealer added UV dye to transmission fluid to try to pinpoint source of persistent transmission leak. Sent truck back home with me, with yet another appointment to return truck next week to try and find leak with a blacklight. $5 transmission pan gasket was replaced. Diagnosing this took 4 visits. Leak was finally repaired during this visit.
