2004 Chrysler Pacifica Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by ***bapriebe

Cargo capacity
Very spacious. Easily possible to carry 6-7ft long items. (Certain narrow items, such as boards, up to 10.4ft can be carried entirely inside the vehicle with the liftgate closed). 6 cu ft boxes fit upright without impairing rear view.
Handling
Except for a slight extra body lean in hard cornering, the Pacifica handles much like a sports sedan.
Ride smoothness
Pacifica absorbs most bumps and dips without incident and mostly rides like a limousine.
Exterior styling
Nicely integrated from front to back.
Fuel economy
Very heavy car. Gas mileage is fair.
Depreciation
Depreciation is atrocious. Car had lost 75% of its value by time 100,000km rolled around even though in and out it is still in excellent condition.
Price or payments
Canadians are seriously ripped off on the price. Even after the re-pricing of 2008, we still pay nearly $7K more for the same vehicle, made in Canada, than Americans do (factoring in currency exchange). In 2004, the differential was closer to $12K.
Driving position & visibility
Visibility out the rear liftgate is poor because of a high beltline. In 2004, a factory-installed rear view camera or back-up system was not available. These are essential.
Color choices
Very few colours available.
