Dodge Ram 1500 Reliability and Durability: Pros

2012 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 215-horsepower 3.7L V6
4-speed automatic RWD
I had my truck for only 11 months. The motor was solid but the electronics were garbage as far as I'm concerned.
2010 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 390-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic RWD
After talking to a lot of owners of different trucks, Dodge owners seem to have far less major problems.
2009 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed 390-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed shiftable automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
Life time warranty. No problems yet with this one, but i have ran one over 200k. The truck treats you as good as you treat it.
2008 4dr Crew Cab 6.5ft bed 345-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed automatic RWD
So far so good. 18k or only towing... a little yes... but over brutal hills carrying crazy loads using lots of 5500 rpm engine braking.
2004 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 345-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
I have had this truck many years and worked hard with heavy loads and rough terrain. Truck has been flawless. It has taken more abuse than almost any other truck and never has failed.
2004 2dr Regular Cab 6.5ft bed 235-horsepower 4.7L V8
5-speed automatic RWD
Strong and trouble free for me. I flush and maintain my truck as I a mechanic.
2003 4dr Extended Cab 6.5ft bed 345-horsepower 5.7L V8
5-speed automatic RWD
Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned and I've owned them all. Toyota, Honda, etc. None have been any better. Truck is used as a work truck with heavy loads and short trips. Only a few minor issues in over 10 years. Never broken down on side of the road. Just solid.

Now my family builds dodge so it hurts me to say this truck was a big disappointment. I had my truck for only 11 months. This truck was put in the shop so many time for the same things I was reluctant to even consider another Chrysler product. My ignition switch constantly stopped working in the cold months. My transmission had repair work twice (something about a pump) before being fully replaced with a brand new one. My doors made horrid squeaking while being opened or closed. The motor on the other hand was solid but the electronics were garbage as far as I'm concerned.

100,000 mile warranty
2007 4dr Sedan 148-horsepower 2.2L I4
5-speed manual FWD
I believe that it is a solid well built car and I expect to put at least 250,000 miles on it.
2006 2dr Coupe 171-horsepower 2.4L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
non turbo, easy to maintain, parts availability. A/C outstanding, cheap service
2006 4dr Sedan 171-horsepower 2.4L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
After 50K plus miles I have had zero problems. Other then regular maintenance and one brake pad replacement this car has been solid.
2006 4dr Sedan 145-horsepower 2.2L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
would put up against Toyota Corolla
2005 4dr Sedan 145-horsepower 2.2L I4

extremely reliable...would put up against Toyota Corolla

Bad reputation. Hundreds of car on the lot gives them a Mc Car feeling.
