An asterisk (*) marks results based on small sample sizes.
General NotesModels and statistics marked with an asterisk (*) have very low sample sizes. These results, visible only to logged-in members, provide only a rough estimate of car reliability.Any result under 20 repair trips per 100 cars is likely a result of the small sample size, and should be expected to increase to 20 or so in future updates.
New models often start out with high repair rates, and then improve as the manufacturer identifies and addresses common problems. MethodologyOnly successfully completed repairs are currently included in the analysis. Routine maintenance, most wear items, recalls, and problems fixed with just a reflash or warning light reset are not included.

I simply like the fact that they have a history of being reliable. I’m not basing that on any study or any collection of stats that I’ve seen. I’m just basing it on my experience and the experience of my Jeep friends. |

HUGE disappointment! TERRIBLE construction. WORST fit and finish. My Jeep Wranglers soft top roof leaked from the start. I blew THOUSANDS of dollars over four years of ownership trying to get Jeep dealership to repair the problem. No luck. Always got the run around. At one point, Jeep repair even admitted '...of course it leaks. It's a Wrangler.' Every time it rained, I'd have half an inch of water on the floor, and dashboard soaked. Seats were like sponges. I was tired of the Jeep bullsh*t and sold it off with 30k miles. Heartbreaking. Wranglers are fun, but very very unreliable and breathtaking how POORLY built they are. Don't waste your money. |

We put 219K miles on our 1996 Cherokee Up-Country with the original clutch. The engine and drive train are still in excellent condition with extensive off-road driving and that vehicle is still on (and off!) the road. The Rubicon has the same basics. |

At 18,000 miles the differential started leaking and the clock spring failed requiring a major repair. I drive mainly highway miles in nice weather. |

Roof will leak badly no matter what model you buy. Hard top or soft top. It's insulting how badly made Jeeps are. Think I'm kidding? Search 'leaking jeep roof' on YouTube and you'll see tons of videos from owners like me documenting how BADLY jeeps leak. Like a running faucet on your damn head. |

4 visits to dealership over 6 months trying to solve "death wobble" problem. Over $2,000 worth of work done (covered by extended warranty), including completely rebuilt steering assembly, etc. Still did not fix problem. Traded in at 50k miles. |
