2006 Mazda Mazda3 Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by nkossack

Handling
The vehicle is quite agile and has excellent feedback despite its electric power steering.
Materials & workmanship
Interior materials are aesthetically impressive for the price segment and have good ergonomics and tactile feedback. Most elements feel solid and well built.
Price or payments
The vehicle is priced very well in its segment considering its strengths and overall quality.
Interior styling
Well laid out dash and radio controls. The GT package adds leather which is a nice touch.
Quietness
Not much insulation from road noise - can be annoying at highway speeds.
Fuel economy
Sub par for the segment driving under mixed city/highway conditions. Really tanks in the winter.
Ride smoothness
Ride can be rough and choppy over challenging road surfaces due to the OEM suspension tuning.
Dealer practices
Mazda dealer service is awful and incredibly expensive. I do most of my own work due to this issue.
Exterior styling
Not for everyone - the HB can appear a bit chunky at certain angles. Not a deal breaker, but this is not the best looking car in the segment.
