2009 Mazda Mazda6 Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by repeet

Exterior styling
The coupe roofline. Aggressive front fenders.
Interior styling
Cool dash lighting. Easy to reach controls. Steering wheel height and telescoping adjustments.
Fuel economy
28.5 mpg. Driving to the interstate, taking the interstate to the other side of town, then driving to work (or home).
Safety & braking
Airbags and government safety ratings. Also bumper performance.
Front seat support & comfort
Being older and larger, the seats are wide enough not to squeeze, or confine me while still supporting me in turns.
Powertrain performance
Needs another 200 hp and 300 ft/lbs of torque. To be fair first gear is geared really low. Once you run the engine up to 5500 to 6000 rpm then second gear has some grip. The variable valve time really helps during cruise but passing requires down shifting
Handling
On short quick turns the front outside wheel bottoms out. To be fair the car then grips and turns nicely. Interestingly on long sweeping turns the body roll is imperceptible.
