Engine light code said catalytic converter. Repair shop said I needed the central converter. Cost $1000. Repaired. Two days later light came back on. New code has several versions (1 said O2 sensor, other front catalytic conver, other reset light)
Problem with rough starting-traced to ECU (partially burned out by defective electronic engine mounts). Dealer wanted nearly $3000 for repair. Local shop replaced ecu with remanufactured one. Engine mounts left unconnected. Problem partially resolved.
Replaced precat front since the original one was shot. Gas mileage was poor before and still poor after. SES light is still on, will take on autozone to check.
All six coil packs starting acting up. Car had no power and sounded like it was under water. my catalytic converter went bad. i started to smeel what smelt like rotten eggs every time i acclerated hard. a result of the catalytic converter going bad i had to replace 2 o2 sensors as well
Loose shield and hole in exhaust between precats 2 & and 3. Loose hangar was replaced on resonator after MAIN cat
fuel gauge dropped to completely empty where it remained until I traded it in for an '07 outback
Engine missed badly on two occasions, check engine light came on both times. #6 cylinder coil bad, replaced and problem fixed.
O2 sensor was bad. There are 3 O2 sensors. This one is before the catalytic converter.
Check engine light (SES light) was on. Code indicated it was the PNP switch on my manual transmission (Park-Neutral Position switch). Had to drain tranny and replace the switch. Repair was simple, but new part was hard to find. Ordered it online.
