Nissan Versa Reliability through December 31, 2012
An asterisk (*) marks results based on small sample sizes.
General NotesHow do we select "competing car models"? Users of TrueDelta's car price comparison tool most often compare these cars to the Nissan Versa.Models and statistics marked with an asterisk (*) have very low sample sizes. These results, visible only to logged-in members, provide only a rough estimate of car reliability.
Any result under 20 repair trips per 100 cars is likely a result of the small sample size, and should be expected to increase to 20 or so in future updates.
New models often start out with high repair rates, and then improve as the manufacturer identifies and addresses common problems. MethodologyOnly successfully completed repairs are currently included in the analysis. Routine maintenance, most wear items, recalls, and problems fixed with just a reflash or warning light reset are not included.

I trust my car and know it will go when I need it. The bumpers, front and rear, are light plastic and should be upgraded but I am told most other cars are the same these days. Nissan advises against towing with the car likely because of the small engine but it tows behind my mh quite nicely. I will take this car over the VW Passat which I would rate as the more unreliable car I have ever owned. |

out of the 50,000 KM i have done the only thing that has had to be done is change the tires and the usual servicing |

Great car very few problems |

We have had our Versa for two and a half years and other than regular maintenance we have not had to spend a dime on the car. After 40k miles the brakes are still almost like new and the car still runs great. |
| 2007 | 4dr Hatch 122-horsepower 1.8L I4 4-speed automatic FWD |
I had the engine cap missing for over a month and it still performed well. I can rely on it to always start on the first try and to survive parking garage & other urban hazards without failure. |

New Nissan model. Felt light/cheap. |

After I signed the papers but before I made it off the lot with my new car, we found the back window did not raise & lower properly, and I had to leave it for repairs right then. Also, the headlight assembly is very cheap and broke off at a 5mph bump. |

Versa 1 visited the repair shop 5 times in 8000 miles before being totalled in an accident. Versa 2 visited the repair shop more than a dozen times in 31,000 miles, and had a dangerous transmission problem that was never fixed. |

It was a first year model. I bought a first year model once and will never make the same mistake twice. |

Less reliable and durable than Honda |

I do not feel safe driving it in winter due to the starting and speeding up issues. It has not gotten me from A to B reliably. Rather it has caused me much grief. |
