It seemed to me that the headliner on the Pontiac was further back due to the retractable hardtop design, putting it over my head. This made it feel less like a convertible.
From the surveys I have seen, the Solara (Camry) has an edge in reliability over the G6. In addition, on test drive, the retractable hardtop stalled the first time we attempted to close it. We had to open it again and retry closing it.
One of the biggest problems with the G6 hardtop is lack of trunk space. The trunk is already small with the top up. When the top is down, only a tiny storage space is available in the trunk, and it is not accessible without putting the top back up.
The Pontiac had manual climate control and cloth seating. The stereo sounded pretty good, but was a single-disc unit without MP3 capability.
