2000 Saturn L-Series Pros and Cons Member5642 Braking is very good. (Front disc, rear drum). I wish that it had rear disc also, but wasn't on this model. Doors are reinforced with steel tubes beneath the outer skin for side impact collision resistance. Strong body cage. |

2000 Saturn L-Series Pros and Cons Member5455 The car has good safety features and good brakes. My model does not have ABS, but it does have disc brakes on all four wheels and the braking action is even, strong, and easy to modulate accurately with the pedal. |

2003 Saturn L-Series Pros and Cons A member in Colorado, United States I have personal experience with rolling a Saturn in a very nasty accident. My entire family emerged from the car unscathed. The outside of the car was totally destroyed, but the passenger compartment was intact. |

2000 Saturn L-Series Pros and Cons Member5205 The car is safe, especially being a saturn. This is my last top-feature as the car does have good ratings, but the braking is horrible. The lines rusted out after only 19 years, and replacing rotors was hard. This car warps them and eats pads. poor brakes |
