Mar 2008 0 Replace transmission part number 09A-300-036-DX. 
Oct 2008 0 Repaired rear hatch wiring, door won't lock. Readjusted hinges in front and rear doors to stop doors from rubbing and chipping paint. 
Jun 2009 23560 0 Suspension, Right Front; Needed Replacement Parts. 
Sep 2009 25420 20 Car hinge improperly set causes front left door to rub against rear left door upon closing. Finger nail size paint missing showing rust where the top left door tip is rubbing against left rear door. Left rear door also missing paint with rust. 
Mar 2010 28520 0 Sunroof rattles at highway speeds when open. Gradual onset. Left front headlights went out for about a month then mysteriously came back by itself. Told can not find fault. The car occasionally loses power (possibly limp mode) with no check engine lights or similar in colder winter days. The problem goes away when the engine is restarted the second time immediately after onset of problem. 
Jul 2010 32240 45 Car entering limp mode, previously only in winter. Last visit could not duplicate problem. This summer the problem came back and come on whenever full power is requested, also check engine light. Turbocharger vanes seized up, replaced. Moonroof developed leaks through passenger side drain hose. Recall was performed to trim the hose to prevent clogging. Center console clip mechanism broke, replaced. 
Sep 2010 34100 1050 Signal Switch ticker malfunction. Continues to tick after returning from left/right turn. Replaced switch. Left front headlight went out again, didn't come back by itself this time around. Apparently front right headlight leak also. Light bulb replaced in left, replaced right headlight assembly. Front right bearing making noise, needed replacement. Replaced front right wheel bearing. Rear windshield washer sprayer hose clogged or nozzle clogged. Replace rear washer hose. 
Nov 2011 44640 70 Exhaust bracket broken. Needed to be rewelded to chasis mount points.

Aug 2011 50840 500 Ignition coil(s) were giving out bad voltage to the spark plugs. The whole coil/wires and plugs as a whole unit were replaced since they came as a kit. The repair shop mentioned it was "early" for this repair to occur.

Oct 2007 13000 0 Cruise control was not setting properly. The GTI did have a control module replace a long time ago by another dealer. Dealer #2 reported that the pin on that module that controls cruise functions was bent by Dealer #1. Loaner was provided by dealer/VWo
