Engine overheated. My guess was that it blew a head gasket, not uncommon for this engine family. Symptoms after the initial incident was an engine miss at cold start that would go away after a few minutes of driving. I used a large bottle of Bars Leak HG-1 which I believe "fixed" the head gasket. Unfortunately the overheating issue persisted, however the engine miss at cold start is no longer present. This lead me to discover I have a problem with cooling fan(s) not turning on. I've yet to start troubleshooting why the fan(s) won't power on.
