A cracked vacuum line for the brakes had to be replaced - brakes were not dependable. An interim patching repair to minimise leakage was performed while waiting for the correct part to arrive. When the part arrived, the line was replaced. |
121000 mi | Parking brake cable "popped loose" from bracket under dashboard that maintains tension on the cable, leading to parking brake being "stuck". The cable fits into an l-bracket with a slot, the head of that section of the cable being pulled out sufficiently to create tension. It was replaced in the slot, and I am keeping a cable-tie handy in the car if the cable head pops loose again. Extremely annoying, yes, but it also very closely mimics the symptoms of a broken cable, which is a bit more heart-stopping with the car parked a long way from a dealer. |
