Was using 2q of oil every 3k miles. Changed valve cover and PCB for updated GM part, as per tsb. Now, no oil being burnt. Only other problem was a message for low oil pressure. Was a 1-off and has not come back. |

SES light with a P0016 code Cam/crank correlation. Replaced Cam sensor, code remained. Replaced Crank Sensor and code remained. Would not take a crank relearn. Still has code, possible Timing Chain issue. |

P0016 Code. Found the Timing chain tensioner broken. Replaced timing chain and gears. MAJOR disassembly required to do this job which is a major factor in time and cost of repair. |
83300 mi US $40 |
Got a P0521 code and the SES light came on. Took out the filter screen at the sensor and cleaned the crud out. reassembled and cleared the code. Code remained off for 2 weeks before returning. Will replace sensor next. Replaced Oil Pressure sensor, Cleaned the screen below it again. Reset the P0521 code. Went for immediate oil change. Drained the Castrol GTX and replaced with Pennzoil. Pressure improved, no SES light. |
52000 mi | The AWD system light came on. I was told it was a fuse so it was replaced. The light came on again on the same day and I have an appointment on 09/10/2010 for repair. Aside: the 9-7x is junk (at least mine is.) Multiple trips for repair. Engine began "clicking" and check engine light came on. Was told it was only need for oil change/oil filter replacement. Resolved issue but per the informtion the car provides the driver, I allegedly had 25% oil life remaining. |
